Bread testing fun for year 5!
As part of our food technology project this term, we have been testing breads and bread products with a view to developing our own bread products in a couple of weeks` time.
We had seven different breads; pitta, multigrain, naan, croissant, brioche, baguette and raisin bread (with extra cinnamon!) and had to try out for appearance; smell; texture and, finally, taste!
We were encouraged to use appropriate adjectives to describe these kinds of breads - "tasted
nice" just wouldn`t do! Words we used included "crusty"; "stretchy"; "golden" and "spicey". We voted at the end and discovered that most people liked the garlic and herb naan bread the best. Some, however, thought it "over-flavoured". We are posting a plea for mums, dads and relatives to come in after half term to help us to bake our own bread products. Messy but fun!
