Y5 Visit to Hindu Temple

Last week Y5 (Mr Dempsey and Mrs Lynch) visited the Hindu Temple in Newcastle.
The large site of the temple building is based on the West road in Newcastle. The temple in Newcastle has been going since the 1950s.
10,000 families from the North East usually visit this temple. 400 devotees visit the temple every Sunday and around 125/150 devotees come every Tuesday.
We saw lots of Hindu Deties (statues of Gods,) including Krishna who is in the picture. He is one of the most commonly worshipped Gods in the Hindu faith.
It was a great day out and we learned lots (including the teachers!)

I liked going to the hindu temple because there were lots of cool statues but the fire thing smelt like curry.
