Lands End to John O'Groats - Day 3 - 18 Jan
An easier day today - better weather (actually saw some sun!) and a bit flatter. Don managed 67.5 miles today and reached Bristol Airport.
The day started well after a good rest at the bed and breakfast (photo).
The trip north took him through Cheddar Gorge and although Don admits that passing through the Gorge slowed him down considerably, it was well worth the diversion.
Six hours in the saddle and 67.5 miles later he reached the outskirts of Bristol and set up camp close to the airport. Although the sun has been shining (the forecast was correct!) the temperature is still low hovering around freezing as he set up camp.
Totals so far :
Hours in saddle = 19
Distance = 208.5 miles
The weather forecast for tomorrow is for a similar day - fingers crossed!
If you want to support Don in his money raising efforts remember donations can be left at the school office.
