Year Two Update

It was good to meet so many parents on our consultation evenings. Like us, parents feel their children have adapted well to their new teachers and the challenges of Year 2. We have two happy, hard-working classes.
Here we are in the Christmas term already. The Fire of London has at last been extinguished, but, from the excitement of the children over this topic, Pudding Lane, 1666 and Samuel Pepys' diary are never to be forgotten!
The children are doing well now, learning songs for the Christmas shows. Meanwhile, they are getting to grips with writing instructions in literacy, measuring in numeracy and electrical circuits in science - a topic the children love and are becoming quite knowledgeable in. Ask them about the components of a circuit and see what we mean.
We will be allocating parts in the key stage 2 show over the next week and we hope to be able to tell parents soon about what costumes may be needed.
